The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godrigueze lands a body shot.
Godrigueze fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thornton sprawls well initially but Godrigueze persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Godrigueze prevents Thornton from standing back up.
Godrigueze thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Godrigueze thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thornton's head.
Godrigueze is pressing down on Thornton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Thornton is holding on for now.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Godrigueze lands a nice short elbow.
Godrigueze has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Godrigueze has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Godrigueze is nestled in close to Thornton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like Ian Thornton has been cut.
Godrigueze sitting in half guard here. He lands a big elbow that has hurt Thornton! Oh, Thornton is in big trouble! Godrigueze lands more strikes and the ref dives in to save him! The fight is over!

Reyn Godrigueze bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
