Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scotty Catos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thad Battles!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Catos misses with an uppercut
and Battles counters with an inside leg kick.
Catos is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Battles.
Catos throws an off balance right hand
and Battles counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Battles walks into a straight right hand from Catos.
Catos throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Battles counters by moving into the clinch.
The referee calls for Battles to work.
Battles lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Catos tries to break the clinch but Battles is controlling the position.
Catos is looking to break free of the clinch but Battles has double underhooks.
Battles is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Battles displaying some good clinch control by pressing Catos up against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Battles scores with a nice short uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Catos is rocked!
Battles lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Oh Catos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Battles creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Catos's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Catos drops to his knees and Battles pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thad Battles!
After the fight, Thad Battles was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
