PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Keller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Davis's choice of entrance music: The Who - Baba O'Riley. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Keller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Davis!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Keller moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Davis misses with a double jab.
Davis lands a nice shot that snaps Keller's head back.
Davis looks to throw the jab but Keller is out of range.
Davis wants to clinch.
Davis misses with a straight left.
Keller has a takedown stuffed.
Keller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Keller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Davis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Keller.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Keller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davis stuffs the takedown.

Keller misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
An inside leg kick lands from Davis.
Keller is breathing heavily.
Keller takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Keller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davis's guard.
Davis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Keller's guard.
Keller on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Keller tries to get out of the position.
Keller throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Davis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Keller's head.
Davis wants to control from the top but Keller keeps moving.

Keller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Keller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Keller avoids a punch combination nicely.

Davis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Keller.
Davis tries to land a leg kick but Keller saw it coming and moves away.
Davis lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Keller backs up against the ropes.
Davis misses with a two punch combination.
Craig Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis wants to clinch
letting Keller counter with a right hand.

and Keller counters with a one-two to the body.
Davis stuffs the takedown attempt from Keller. Keller gets slowly back to his feet.
Craig Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Keller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Keller looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis looks to land a right hand but Keller moved out of range.
Keller has a takedown stuffed.
Keller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Davis can pounce on him.
Keller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Keller shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice uppercut there from Davis.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Davis changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Davis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Keller at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Craig Davis dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Keller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Keller lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Davis has momentary wrist control but Keller slips an elbow through the middle.
Keller wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.
Keller is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Keller manages to get himself to full guard.
Keller bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davis's guard.
Keller with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Davis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Keller postures up and lands a big shot to Davis's brow.
Keller passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Davis is trying to control Keller's posture but Keller avoids it.

Keller feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Davis throws a lazy head kick

and Keller decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davis's guard.
Davis striking off his back but it's not causing Keller any problems.

Chris Keller showed his dominance in that final round.
