Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simr Amud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fedor Liddell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Simr Amud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fedor Liddell! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell stalks Amud and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Amud's face. Amud staggers backwards, shaken. Liddell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Liddell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Amud is proving hard to escape from. Liddell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Amud is pulling down on Liddell's head to control his posture. Liddell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Liddell stands up from Amud's guard - Liddell perhaps looking for a knockout. Fedor Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liddell rushes Amud and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Amud tries a knee to the head but Liddell blocks it.
Amud drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Liddell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amud with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Amud really is a fat lump. Amud struggles to land a body shot inside as Liddell controls his hands.
Liddell has picked Amud up - he's going for a ride! Liddell dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Liddell trying to mount his opponent but Amud defends it. Amud is pressing down on Liddell's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Amud manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Liddell manages to get himself to full guard.
Liddell is pulling down on Amud's head to control his posture. Liddell is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Amud presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amud is working for takedown but Liddell is calmly controlling the position for now. Liddell is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Amud is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Liddell to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simr Amud. That's going to take a lot out of him. Liddell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Amud has him pressed against the cage. Liddell wants to get back to striking at distance but Amud won't allow it.

Amud is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Liddell is defending well. Amud controlling the action here for a moment.
Amud has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Liddell avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amud is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Liddell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Amud is breathing heavily. Liddell wants to break free but Amud has control.
Liddell is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Amud has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Liddell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Liddell is looking to break free of the clinch but Amud has double underhooks. Liddell is trying to break the clinch but Amud is controlling him. Liddell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Liddell looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Liddell pivots, looking for a leg kick but Amud is out of range and Liddell settles back down. Liddell moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Liddell sizes up Amud with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Amud is defended easily by Liddell.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Liddell lands a two punch combo.
Nice uppercut there from Liddell. Liddell connects with a right hand. Amud shakes it off. Liddell lands a jab-cross combination. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Amud checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Amud will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A head kick misses from Liddell. Amud is looking for a counter combo. Amud takes one on the button. Amud misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Liddell dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Liddell moves into the clinch. Amud prevents Liddell from breaking the clinch. Liddell prevents the takedown attempt.

Amud is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Liddell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Liddell dodges an elbow strike from Amud.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simr Amud. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liddell is defending well against a takedown attempt. Liddell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Liddell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Liddell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Amud!
That's one minute gone in the round. Amud takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Liddell decides to stand back up. Liddell steps back and let's Amud get back to his feet. Liddell misses with a double jab.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Some wild striking there from Liddell.
Liddell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Amud looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Liddell stands up. Liddell throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Amud's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Liddell misses. Liddell looks to land a combination. Amud sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Liddell shoots in and bounces Amud off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Amud is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Liddell frees his head nicely. Oh but Amud has switched to an armbar! Liddell is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
