Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sasha Dulin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Kannemeyer! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kannemeyer misses with a head kick.
Kannemeyer moves into range and clinches up with Dulin. Kannemeyer misses with a knee to the head. Dulin tries to break the clinch but Kannemeyer is controlling the position. Kannemeyer tries to pull guard but Dulin won't allow it.
Dulin is trying to trip Kannemeyer. He has hold of a leg but Kannemeyer is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dulin persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Dulin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kannemeyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dulin is looking to work some ground and pound but Kannemeyer has wrist control. Kannemeyer keeping moving, preventing Dulin from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kannemeyer seems keen to control Dulin's posture. Let's hope that Kannemeyer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dulin won't allow Kannemeyer to sweep him here. Dulin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kannemeyer holds on and takes a little breather. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dulin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kannemeyer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dulin throws a right hand that misses
and Kannemeyer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kannemeyer tries to clinch there but Dulin circles away.
Dulin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dulin half committed to a counter leg kick. Kannemeyer rushes Dulin and presses him up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dulin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kannemeyer regains guard.
Dulin prevents Kannemeyer from getting back to his feet. Dulin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kannemeyer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kannemeyer looking for a sweep. Not yet Kannemeyer, not yet. Dulin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kannemeyer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kannemeyer has a closed guard, preventing Dulin from standing up. Dulin content to stall in guard here. Kannemeyer has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at World Combat Sports Academy. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dulin wants to control from the top but Kannemeyer keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kannemeyer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dulin looks to land a combination but Kannemeyer avoids it well. And Kannemeyer tries to counter it with a takedown but Dulin pushes his down on his head and steps out. Kannemeyer keeps the fight on the outside. Dulin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Dulin with a poor takedown and Kannemeyer counters with a lovely shot to the body. Dulin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dulin wants it to stay on the feet. Dulin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kannemeyer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kannemeyer throws a big right hand that misses. Kannemeyer working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dulin's head. Kannemeyer trying to control but Dulin is working from the bottom. Kannemeyer wants to pass the guard but Dulin is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kannemeyer wants to control from the top but Dulin keeps moving. Kannemeyer prevents Dulin from getting back to his feet. Kannemeyer lands a couple of digs. Kannemeyer passes Dulin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dulin pushes Kannemeyer off looking to stand but Kannemeyer dives back in and keeps control.
Kannemeyer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kannemeyer has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Kannemeyer dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dulin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kannemeyer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dulin pinned against the cage. Dulin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kannemeyer gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kannemeyer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dulin's efforts to push away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dulin scores with a shot to the side of Kannemeyer's head. Dulin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kannemeyer gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Kannemeyer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dulin prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kannemeyer looking for a takedown. Sasha Dulin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Kannemeyer. Kannemeyer tries to pull guard but Dulin won't allow it.
Kannemeyer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dulin tries to work over Kannemeyer's front leg with a kick but Kannemeyer checks it. And Kannemeyer responds with a good body kick, but Dulin manages to step out the way in time. Kannemeyer dodges the punch combination from Dulin.
Kannemeyer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dulin. Dulin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dulin shoots in but Kannemeyer avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dulin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kannemeyer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dulin's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kannemeyer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kannemeyer's corner is telling him to maintain position. Kannemeyer passes Dulin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kannemeyer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kannemeyer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kannemeyer works his way into full mount! Kannemeyer lands a couple of good shots and Dulin has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dulin is trying to remain composed but Kannemeyer is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Kannemeyer wants to control but Dulin is keeping busy. Kannemeyer working for a choke but Dulin is defending well. Kannemeyer looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Kannemeyer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dulin is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
You can see the frustration on Dulin's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dulin covering up well under a barage of strikes. Dulin is trapped and Kannemeyer is scoring with shots to the head and body. Dulin is trying to get back to his feet but Kannemeyer has full control of the position and if anything, Dulin has just worked his way into a worse spot. Kannemeyer is looking for the choke from the back position but Dulin is controlling his hands well. Kannemeyer is trying to stick to Dulin's back but Dulin is turning into Kannemeyer. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kannemeyer's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Dulin. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kannemeyer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Kannemeyer wants to control from the top but Dulin keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Kannemeyer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Dulin tries to clinch up. Dulin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kannemeyer manages to avoid it. Kannemeyer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Dulin is trying to stand up here but Kannemeyer is controlling him well. Kannemeyer is nestled in close to Dulin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kannemeyer is trying to control the action in half guard but Dulin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kannemeyer throws a strike but Dulin avoids it easily and moves to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kannemeyer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kannemeyer forces his way into half guard. Dulin wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kannemeyer moves nicely into side control. Kannemeyer is chipping away with strikes.
Dulin is trying to buck Kannemeyer off. Dulin is looking to reverse the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kannemeyer tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Kannemeyer trying to control the action but Dulin is working from the bottom. Dulin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kannemeyer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kannemeyer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dulin keeps working. Kannemeyer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Kannemeyer working away. Sasha Dulin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kannemeyer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dulin, who protects the arm well. Kannemeyer tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kannemeyer tries to stand but Dulin is controlling his head. Kannemeyer wants to control but Dulin is keeping him busy.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Dulin throws a right and a left that Kannemeyer avoids nicely. Kannemeyer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dulin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dulin throws a leg kick that misses. Kannemeyer shoots in and drives through. Dulin sprawls well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dulin misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kannemeyer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dulin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kannemeyer is controlling him. Kannemeyer content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kannemeyer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kannemeyer works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Kannemeyer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Kannemeyer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
