The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Botha gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Warukh to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Botha wants to get back to his feet but Warukh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Warukh postures up and lands a big shot to Botha's brow.
Warukh postures up in Botha's guard and throws a big left but Botha blocks it.
Warukh not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

No joy there for Warukh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Botha lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Warukh circles away quickly and effectively.

Warukh is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Botha can't fight it off and eventually Warukh manages to take the fight to the floor. Botha looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Botha enables Warukh to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Botha manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Warukh is looking to stand up but Botha isn't so interested in that idea.
Botha must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well Warukh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
