Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kumi Keijo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Nelson Country! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Country with a body punch. A glancing blow. Country throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Keijo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Country fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Keijo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Country throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Country cracks Keijo with an uppercut from hell and Keijo crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Country's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Keijo is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Country gets to his feet. Keijo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Oh Keijo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Country has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Country misses with a jab, cross combination.
Keijo seems to have got his legs back now. Keijo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Country defends it nicely. Some wild striking there from Country.

Keijo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Keijo misses with a combination
and Keijo is countered with a crisp right hand from Country that sends him to the canvas! Country follows him to the mat into side control. Country decides to stand up, so the ref orders Keijo to his feet. Keijo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Country. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Country ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Keijo's jaw. Keijo's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Country does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nelson Country!
