Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johny Chambers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Bailey! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chambers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Bailey's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bailey is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chambers's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Chambers wants to control but Bailey is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bailey looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Chambers not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Chambers drops an elbow to the side of Bailey's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bailey trying to control here.
Bailey has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Chambers thows a huge punch but Bailey dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chambers working over Bailey with some ground and pound. Bailey looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bailey is refusing to be controlled, as Chambers sits in half guard. Chambers lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Chambers throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Chambers is looking to advance position but Bailey won't allow it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Chambers lands a nice short elbow. Chambers looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Chambers working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Chambers is nestled in close to Bailey, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Chambers trying to control from half guard but Bailey is working away. Bailey trying to control from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chambers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Chambers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Chambers wants to control but Bailey is keeping him busy. Bailey wants to get back to his feet. Chambers seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Bailey blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chambers. Chambers is controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Chambers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chambers postures up and lands a big shot to Bailey's brow. Bailey has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Chambers doesn't defend quickly enough and Bailey has managed to lock this one up! Can Chambers escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bailey on a fantastic submission victory.
