PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brain Solan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernandez Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brain Solan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Fernandez Bush!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bush fails to land the takedown.
Bush shoots in for a takedown but Solan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Solan lands a left and a right that send Bush crashing to the mat, dazed. Solan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Bush is rocked!


It looks like Fernandez Bush has been cut.

Solan moves into range and clinches up with Bush.

Solan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Solan needs to keep his hands up - Bush had a free shot at his head there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Solan pushes Bush up against the cage in a clinch.

Bush has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Solan uses from the top position.
Solan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bush is proving hard to escape from.
Solan won't allow Bush to sweep him here.
Bush manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Solan manages to get himself to full guard.

Solan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bush is stalling in the full guard.
Solan can't keep his opponent in guard - Bush advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Solan wants to get back to his feet.
Bush throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bush throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Solan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bush has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Arvins Bootcamp. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Bush working over Solan with some ground and pound. Solan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bush thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Solan's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Solan is trying to stand up here but Bush is controlling him well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Solan moves into range and clinches up with Bush.
Bush wants to break free but Solan has control.
A nice right hand lands inside from Solan.

Solan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bush is defended easily by Solan.
Brain Solan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fernandez Bush.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Solan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bush, pushing him back against the cage.
Bush has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Solan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Solan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Solan leaves Bush with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Solan closes the distance and pushes Bush back into the cage.

Solan manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Solan clinches.

Solan breaks from the clinch.

Solan pushes Bush up against the cage in a clinch.
Solan tries to land a knee to the head but Bush blocks with his arms.
Bush is looking for a takedown.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bush is trying to drag Solan to the mat but Solan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Solan looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Solan stalls.

Solan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Solan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brain Solan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Fernandez Bush's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Solan pushes Bush up against the cage in a clinch.
Solan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Solan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bush can do to turn this around?
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Solan lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Bush has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Solan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Bush avoids the elbow strike from Solan, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
With the fighters up against the cage, Solan throws an elbow but misses.

Solan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Solan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
An attempted straight right counter from Solan misses the target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bush changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Solan tries to avoid it but Bush manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Solan to the ground. Solan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Solan tries to bum rush Bush with a series of wild strikes but Bush uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bush is trying hard to land a takedown here. Solan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Solan went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Brain Solan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fernandez Bush.
Sloppy strikes from Solan. Those never looked like landing.
Brain Solan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Solan lands with a right and another and another! Bush is in big trouble! Solan lands again and this time it's lights out for Bush! A quality knockout there for Solan.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brain Solan!
During a confident post fight interview, Brain Solan thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
