Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yo Yo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saipul Jamil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saipul Jamil will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yo Yo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saipul Jamil!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Yo blocks the leg kick.

Yo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jamil's half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jamil can do anything to dispel that myth.
Yo scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Yo is nestled in close to Jamil, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Yo tries to pass to full mount but Jamil defends it.
Yo working the head and body with strikes.
Yo lands strikes from half guard.
Yo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Jamil on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Yo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jamil with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Yo working over Jamil with some ground and pound. Jamil looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Yo drops an elbow to the side of Jamil's head.
Nice strikes from Yo there.
Yo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Yo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Jamil is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jamil is trying to stand back up but Yo is controlling him
Jamil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Yo wants to pass the guard but Jamil is defending well.

Yo looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Yo slips a nice elbow through Jamil's hands, connecting with Jamil's forehead.
Yo moves into full mount! Jamil won't be happy about that!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jamil looks a forlorn figure.

Yo is landing with some decent strikes but Jamil is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Yo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Yo working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Jamil looks winded!
Yo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


Jamil is rocked!
Yo landing strikes from the mount and Jamil is in trouble!
Jamil is still in real trouble! Can Yo finish him?

Whack. That's a big, big shot from Yo! Jamil is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Yo Yo!
Our winner, Yo Yo, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
