Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Mcmannus! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tripoli clinches. Tripoli avoiding damage.
Mcmannus wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tripoli breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mcmannus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tripoli. Mcmannus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Tripoli's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mcmannus under the eye. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tripoli scores with a one two! Mcmannus had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Mcmannus on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Tripoli pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Tripoli swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tripoli sets himself, and Mcmannus steps forward looking for the clinch! Tripoli avoids it this time. Tripoli fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mcmannus checks it well. Tripoli is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcmannus looks for a takedown but Tripoli sprawls well. Mcmannus manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tripoli on his heels. He'll look to pass Tripoli's guard now, I'm sure. This has been an exciting period of action! Tripoli seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Tripoli keeping moving, preventing Mcmannus from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tripoli closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Tripoli manages to break the clinch.
Michael Tripoli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mcmannus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mcmannus shoots for a double leg takedown but Tripoli sprawls well. He's pushed Mcmannus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mcmannus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tripoli swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mcmannus takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Mcmannus tries to clinch but Tripoli moves out of range. Tripoli throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. It seemed like Mcmannus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Tripoli stuffs the takedown attempt from Mcmannus. Mcmannus gets slowly back to his feet. Mcmannus avoids the head kick by Tripoli.
Mcmannus closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tripoli quickly recovers to half guard. Tripoli is refusing to be controlled, as Mcmannus sits in half guard. Tripoli pushes Mcmannus off looking to stand but Mcmannus dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tripoli controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tripoli throws a front kick aimed at Mcmannus's knee but Mcmannus avoids it well. Tripoli tries to keep at a distance but Mcmannus has taken the fight into the clinch. Tripoli controlling the action here for a moment.

Mcmannus fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Tripoli motions for Mcmannus to come forward. Tripoli throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Mcmannus is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tripoli buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mcmannus gets a clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Tripoli. Mcmannus tries to pull guard but Tripoli holds him up against the cage and eventually Mcmannus drops back down to his feet.

Mcmannus darts in looking for a takedown but Tripoli gets double underhooks and turns Mcmannus into the cage. A low kick from Mcmannus misses and Tripoli connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Tripoli tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Mcmannus is able to avoid easily. Mcmannus circles away from the clinch attempt and Mcmannus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mcmannus. The fighters are working up against the cage. Tripoli manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Mcmannus tries a knee to the head but Tripoli blocks it.
Mcmannus misses with a short punch on the inside. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tripoli effectively controlling the action here.

Mcmannus works on Tripoli's body with a couple of short punches. Mcmannus is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tripoli to keep the fight standing. Mcmannus drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tripoli gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Mcmannus is breathing heavily. Tripoli winds up and cracks Mcmannus with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Well, if Tripoli is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Tripoli wants to slow Mcmannus down by chopping away at his legs. Mcmannus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tripoli but Tripoli pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tripoli shoots in but Mcmannus avoids the takedown attempt easily. Tripoli is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mcmannus can do to turn this around? Nice takedown defense from Mcmannus. No joy for Tripoli on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Tripoli. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tripoli lands a leg kick that knocks Mcmannus off balance momentarily. Mcmannus takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Mcmannus is looking to clinch. Tripoli shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcmannus napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mcmannus explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tripoli shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mcmannus as he jumps to the side. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mcmannus throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mcmannus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tripoli sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcmannus somewhat. Tripoli closes the distance and clinches. The referee is keeping an eye on Mcmannus - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Tripoli is pushing Mcmannus up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcmannus fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Tripoli moves into range and clinches up with Mcmannus. Tripoli breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mcmannus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tripoli sprawls well. Tripoli wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mcmannus gets slowly back to his feet. Mcmannus throws a wild body kick that Tripoli sees coming a mile off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tripoli throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Tripoli throws out a leg kick but Mcmannus moves out of range and Tripoli only half commits. Tripoli throws a low kick but Mcmannus moves out of range easily. Mcmannus tries to counter with a clinch but Tripoli shakes him off and moves away. Mcmannus darts in looking for a takedown but Tripoli gets double underhooks and turns Mcmannus into the cage. Tripoli connects with a body shot that sends Mcmannus's belly button to the back. Mcmannus misses with a straight right. Mcmannus blocks the body kick.
Tripoli fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mcmannus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tripoli swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tripoli throws a low kick, looking for Mcmannus's leg but Mcmannus calmly moves out of range. Mcmannus looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. A clash of legs there as Mcmannus blocks the low kick. Tripoli shoots and misses and Mcmannus counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. James Mcmannus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A clash of legs there as Mcmannus blocks the low kick. A nice side step and Mcmannus releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Tripoli showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tripoli, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
