Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alonzo Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Sezorro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alonzo Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luis Sezorro!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sezorro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Green connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Luis Sezorro has been cut.
Sezorro dives in and grabs Green's left leg, looking for a takedown. Green pushes down on Sezorro's head and hops out.

Sezorro drives through with a takedown into Green's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Green has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sezorro has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Sezorro is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Green is defending well.
Alonzo Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Sezorro.

Green pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sezorro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Green swivels and escapes.

Green clinches up with Sezorro and pushes him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Green escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Green shoots in and bounces Sezorro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Green seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sezorro looking for a guillotine here but Green defends easily.
Green definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Green tries to stand but Sezorro is controlling from the bottom.
Sezorro throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Green knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sezorro on the ground.

Sezorro looking for a guillotine here but Green defends easily.

Sezorro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Green is aware though and is defending well.

Green decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sezorro, up you get!
Sezorro fails with the takedown.
Sezorro looks winded!

Sezorro feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Green pulls Sezorro in close to prevent any damage.
Green looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Green is on top in guard.

Green winds up and cracks Sezorro with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Sezorro is staying active underneath Green, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sezorro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Green pulls his head out easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sezorro won't allow Green to pass to mount.
Green wants to get back to his feet.

Green stands up out of the half guard.

Green drives through with a takedown into Sezorro's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sezorro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Sezorro's legs - danger averted.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Crunch! Green slams his shin into Sezorro's torso.

Green scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Green lands a few punches from side control.

Green decides to stand back up. Green steps back and let's Sezorro get back to his feet.
Green keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sezorro fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sezorro shoots for a takedown but Green saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alonzo Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Sezorro.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Green shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Green was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Green looks up at the clock and then as Sezorro takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Green smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Green is trying to get an arm triangle but Sezorro is defending well.

Sezorro manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Green is controlling the pace.

Sezorro is not content to let Green control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sezorro wants to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green winds up and cracks Sezorro with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Green lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Green looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sezorro with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sezorro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Green pulls his head out easily.

Green is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sezorro defends it well.
Sezorro is trying to control but can't.
Alonzo Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Well, if Green is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Green is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Green is pressing down on Sezorro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sezorro is holding on for now.

Green is thwarting Sezorro's attempts to control the position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Sezorro tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Green defends well and Sezorro ends up having to push Green into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Green drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Green would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sezorro is looking for a triangle but Green pushes his legs off easily.

Sezorro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Green doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Green manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Green passes Sezorro's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sezorro is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Green scores with a couple of nice shots.
Green passes the guard and advances to mount!
Green lands a big elbow.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Green is trying to stick to Sezorro's back but Sezorro is turning into Green. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Green's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sezorro.
Green is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sezorro is controlling him.

Sezorro postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Green is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sezorro, into his guard.

Green postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Green with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Well Green has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
