Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanders has chosen Born in the USA as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bruce Sanders! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Sanders does it's job there. Sanders misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanders throws a head kick that misses and Hughes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sanders keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hughes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sanders pinned against the ropes. Sanders gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sanders fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanders thows a leg kick but Hughes checks it and Hughes counters with a straight right hand. Sanders throws a big shot that misses. Hughes tries to counter with a takedown but Sanders is quick to defend against it. A slow jab from Sanders misses its intended target. Sanders stalks Hughes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hughes's face. Hughes staggers backwards, shaken.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanders throws the left hand but Hughes avoids the punch easily. Sanders throws a shot from downtown. Hughes moves away and avoids it. Hughes jabs Sanders to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hughes takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sanders throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hughes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Hughes lands a jab to the nose. Hughes avoids the head kick by Sanders.
Hughes changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hughes fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sanders is out of range. Sanders fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Hughes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes moves into range and connects with a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Sanders throws a jab when Hughes was well out of range. Sanders darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Sanders cracks a nice hook into Hughes's ribs. Sanders throws a lazy head kick and Hughes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hughes defending well as Sanders loads up on a big left hand. Sanders scores with a jab to the body. Sanders just misses with a punch to the body.
Sanders throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hughes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sanders. Hughes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sanders. Sanders catches Hughes with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders works the jab nicely. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sanders, as that shot connected.
A head kick by Sanders misses and Hughes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hughes lands with an overhand left. Nice shot lands for Sanders. Hughes with a hook.
Sanders is rocked! Hughes pounces like a tiger and cracks Sanders with a vicious hook! Sanders is down but not out! Hughes follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Matt Hughes! After winning the bout, Matt Hughes thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
