Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Bullshore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Bullshore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jon Paul! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul gets a double leg takedown into Bullshore's guard. Paul controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bullshore looking to control.
Bullshore has his foot on Paul's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paul works his way back into a safe position though. Paul postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Paul got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bullshore has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Paul has managed to get both his arms back between Bullshore's legs - danger averted. Bullshore has momentary wrist control but Paul slips an elbow through the middle. Paul must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Paul lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bullshore looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paul is one step ahead there. Paul with a nice head shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paul is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Bullshore controls Paul momentarily but Paul frees himself. Paul slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Paul is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bullshore has escaped the position, nice work there. Bullshore is trying to escape the position but Paul is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paul tries to stand but Bullshore controls the position and pulls Paul into his guard. Paul looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Bullshore pulls Paul in close to prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bullshore wants to stand and escape but Paul is having none of it. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Paul stays in close to Bullshore's body and controls the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Paul gets a double leg takedown into Bullshore's guard. Paul passes Bullshore's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Bullshore wants to get back to full guard. Nice strikes from Paul there. It looks like Paul is going to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bullshore tries to roll over but Paul keeps him under control. Bullshore is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Paul scores with a couple of nice shots. Bullshore regains full guard. Nicely done. Paul is looking to stand up but Bullshore won't let him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bullshore working a defensive guard here.
Paul lands a couple of digs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Paul dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Paul throws a head kick that misses. Bullshore decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Paul looking for submissions off his back. Bullshore tries to pass to full mount but Paul defends it. Paul is holding on to half guard well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paul tries to roll over but Bullshore keeps him under control. Bullshore thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bullshore is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Paul manages to get to full guard. Bullshore is fighting to break Paul's control of his arms but Paul is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Bullshore wants to control from the top but Paul keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paul can do anything to dispel that myth. Paul pulls Bullshore in to control the position. Paul is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bullshore is aware though and is defending well. Paul wants to sweep here but Bullshore controlling him for the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bullshore tries to clinch but Paul is having none of it. Paul forces Bullshore back against the cage and clinches. Paul breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bullshore shoots in looking for a takedown. Paul tries to sprawl out of it but Bullshore keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Paul manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Steve Bullshore is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Paul closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bullshore did well to prevent Paul getting side control. Bullshore is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bullshore makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bullshore gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Paul to score an easy takedown into full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Paul lands a couple of elbows. Paul is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Paul is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bullshore is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bullshore has escaped and now he's on top! Paul is looking to stand up but Bullshore isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paul seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Paul has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bullshore trying to control the position from guard on top but Paul is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Paul tries to land a sweep but no joy. A close second round but Jon Paul will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Paul clinches up with Bullshore and pushes him back against the cage. Bullshore is fighting off a takedown attempt but Paul is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bullshore to the mat. Bullshore regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Bullshore had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paul defends it easily. Paul with a nice head shot there. Paul tries to free his leg and advance position but Bullshore is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paul preventing the sweep. Paul is looking to stand up but Bullshore won't let him. Paul is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bullshore not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Paul finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bullshore half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Bullshore tries for a takedown but Paul sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bullshore tries to keep at a distance but Paul has taken the fight into the clinch. Bullshore tries to circle away but Paul has him pinned against the cage. Bullshore avoiding damage as Paul throws knees to the body.
Paul keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bullshore's efforts to push away. Paul pulls Bullshore into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul has his hands on Bullshore's head, controlling the position. Paul is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bullshore is aware though and is defending well. Paul is controlling Bullshore's posture. Paul is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bullshore is controlling him. Paul throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Paul seems keen to control Bullshore's posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Paul closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bullshore's guard. Paul slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bullshore trying to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Paul pushes down on Bullshore's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Paul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Paul has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
