PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Mickey Sarady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Lancaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnny Mickey Sarady!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sarady gets a clinch.
Lancaster tries to pull guard but Sarady forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lancaster gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sarady.
Lancaster is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sarady can't break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lancaster misses with the head strike.
Lancaster goes for a takedown attempt but Sarady pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Lancaster shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sarady napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sarady is not content to let Lancaster control the position.
Sarady defending against the ground and pound.

Lancaster postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Lancaster trying to control the action but Sarady is working from the bottom.
Sarady managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lancaster.
An elbow from Lancaster crashes against the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lancaster throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Sarady works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Lancaster looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lancaster trying to control from Sarady's half guard. Sarady has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Lancaster is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sarady is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lancaster throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Sarady scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lancaster shoots and misses
and Sarady counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Lancaster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lancaster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sarady tries to avoid it but Lancaster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sarady to the ground. Sarady escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lancaster shoots for a double leg takedown but Sarady sprawls well. He's pushed Lancaster's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sarady fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lancaster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sarady defends it nicely.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Lancaster for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Lancaster tries to work over Sarady's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Lancaster throws a punch but it's blocked by Sarady.
Sarady tries to break the clinch but Lancaster is controlling the position.

Lancaster has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sarady avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Lancaster prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lancaster could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sarady is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Lancaster managing to block the knees to the body from Sarady.

Lancaster is trying to pull guard but Sarady has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Lancaster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lancaster jumps guard but Sarady turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Lancaster tries to pull guard but Sarady forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Sarady tries to break free but Lancaster pushes him back against the cage.
Lancaster throws a head punch that misses.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lancaster fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lancaster leaning against his opponent.
Lancaster has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sarady after a bit of a struggle.
Sarady stops a takedown attempt from Lancaster.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lancaster prevents Sarady from breaking the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pedro Lancaster will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


No luck for Lancaster with that takedown attempt.
Pedro Lancaster is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sarady is looking for the big counter here.

and Sarady counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Lancaster has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
