Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Spitfire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Spitfire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Day! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spitfire tries to close the distance and clinch but Day swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Day swinging wilding here.
Spitfire throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Day's waist but Day gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spitfire off to one side. Spitfire shoots in but no luck this time. Day takes the fight into the clinch. Spitfire tries to break the clinch but Day is controlling the position. Spitfire landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Spitfire pulls Day into guard.
Spitfire has his hands on Day's head, controlling the position. Day is looking to stand up but Spitfire won't let him. Spitfire is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Spitfire kicks Day off and gets to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A head kick misses from Day. Spitfire throws a sloppy head kick and Day moves into the clinch. Day can't get the takedown.
Spitfire gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Day.
Spitfire tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Spitfire. That's going to take a lot out of him. Day manages to break the clinch.
Spitfire misses with a body shot.
Matt Spitfire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight moves into the clinch position. Spitfire on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Day tries for a takedown but Spitfire manages to get underhooks.
Spitfire tries to pull guard but Day holds him up against the cage and eventually Spitfire drops back down to his feet.
Day wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Spitfire has him pressed against the cage. Spitfire tries a knee to the head but Day blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day drops down looking for an ankle pick but Spitfire pulls his leg out and moves away.
Spitfire looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Spitfire wants to get up but he can't break Day's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Spitfire won't allow Day to sweep him here. Spitfire trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spitfire throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Spitfire is breathing heavily. Day preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Day looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Spitfire prevents Day from getting back to his feet. Day trying to control the position here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Day on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Spitfire fails with the takedown and Day counters by moving into the clinch. Day jumps guard and drags Spitfire to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Spitfire trying to control but Day is working from the bottom. Day throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Spitfire wants to get up but he can't break Day's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Day being controlled here, momentarily. Spitfire looking to pass the guard. Day is pulling down on Spitfire's head to control his posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Day uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Day moves into the clinch successfully.
Spitfire stops a takedown attempt from Day.
Day drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Spitfire gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matt Spitfire will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
The fight moves into the clinch position. Spitfire pulls Day into guard.
Spitfire is trying to control the position but Day postures up. Spitfire is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Spitfire trying to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Day stands up and waves to Spitfire to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Spitfire's head. Day tries to clinch there but Spitfire circles away.
Spitfire darts in trying to clinch and Day counters with a nice body shot. Day fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spitfire manages to avoid it. Day is looking to clinch. Day scores a takedown into full mount! Day postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Spitfire looks a forlorn figure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Spitfire is looking to escape. Day throwing strikes here but Spitfire is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Spitfire is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Spitfire sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Day decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Day looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spitfire tries to keep at a distance but Day has taken the fight into the clinch. Day scores with a shot to the side of Spitfire's head. Day stalls. Spitfire wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Day is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Spitfire pulls him back up using the underhooks. Day is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Spitfire has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Day uses from the top position. Day wants to get up but he can't break Spitfire's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Spitfire escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Day gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Day trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Day trying to control but Spitfire is working from the bottom. Day pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spitfire is keeping the position for now. Spitfire trying to control the position here. Spitfire looking for a sweep. Not yet Spitfire, not yet. Day trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Spitfire shoots and misses and Day counters with a nice double leg into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Day showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
A right-left combo lands from Day. Day gets off balance looking for a body kick and Spitfire counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Spitfire. Nice elbow from Day.
It looks like Matt Spitfire has been cut. Spitfire avoids the elbow strike from Day, against the cage.

Spitfire creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Day's defenses. Day can't get the takedown.
Day drops down looking for an ankle pick but Spitfire pulls his leg out and moves away.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Spitfire doesn't succeed with the takedown and Day counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Day trying to control but Spitfire is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spitfire is trying to control the position but Day postures up. Day would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Day trying to control but Spitfire is working from the bottom. Spitfire looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Day tries to stand but Spitfire is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Spitfire pushes Day off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Day takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Day bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Day keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Day closes the distance but Spitfire moves to the side and Spitfire counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Day! Spitfire has control of Day's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Day regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Day is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spitfire working the ground and pound effectively.
Spitfire putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Charlie Day has got the better of the ground game so far. Day tries to lock up and control but Spitfire gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Spitfire looking to control and managing it successfully. Spitfire unloads with some shots from mount but Day bucks and avoids them well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Spitfire throws some wild stikes that Day manages to avoid easily.
Day sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Spitfire tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Spitfire wants to free his trapped foot but Day is holding on for dear life with his legs. Day has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Spitfire is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Spitfire. I think Spitfire has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
