Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kami Kazi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Batts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batts has chosen Midnight City - By: M83 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kami Kazi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Batts!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batts throws a right and a left that Kazi avoids nicely.
A head kick misses from Kazi.
Batts displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kazi throws out the jab.
Kazi lands with a kick to the ribs.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kazi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kazi seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Kazi walks into a jab.
Peter Batts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Kazi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kazi lands a nice hook to Batts's body. Batts takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Batts keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kazi.
Batts throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Batts's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kazi under the eye.
Batts takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Batts avoids a kick to the body.
Kazi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Horrible takedown attempt by Batts or perhaps it was just good defense by Kazi, which made it look bad.
Kazi is looking to counter punch.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kazi.
Batts's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kazi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Batts scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kazi lands a big head kick that sends Batts tumbling to the mat! Kazi takes a step backwards and waves Batts back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Peter Batts has been cut.
Batts lands a really nice looking cross but Kazi seems unphased.
Kazi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Some bone on bone action there as Batts checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Batts is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Batts lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kazi backs up against the cage.

Batts is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kazi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kazi sneaks out the side door and pushes Batts away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Batts scores with a jab to the head.
Kazi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Kazi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Batts is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kazi throws a head kick that misses.
Batts is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kazi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Batts might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kazi lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nice sprawl there from Kazi as Batts shoots in.
Kami Kazi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Batts.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kazi takes one on the button.
Kazi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Batts has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Kazi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Batts throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kazi defending well as Batts loads up on a big left hand.
Batts scores with a head kick. Kazi tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Kazi takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Kazi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Batts's hands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Batts tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kazi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Batts somewhat.
Batts lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Peter Batts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Batts takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Batts shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kazi as he jumps to the side.
Batts has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Kazi.
Batts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kazi jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Batts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kazi defends well and Batts ends up having to push Kazi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kazi is trying to stand.
Kazi wants to stand back up but Batts manages to pass into side control.
Kazi is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Batts working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kazi pushes Batts away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Batts gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Kazi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Batts scores with a jab to the jaw.

Batts forces Kazi back against the cage and clinches.
Batts swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Kazi manages to break the clinch.
Batts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kazi tries to avoid it but Batts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kazi to the ground. Kazi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

And Kazi counters with a quick kick to the body but Batts blocks it.

Kazi needs to keep his hands up - Batts had a free shot at his head there.

Batts has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kazi.
Kazi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Batts.
Kazi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Batts checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kazi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kazi throws a leg kick that misses.
Kazi moves out of range as Batts strikes.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Batts crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kazi - the referee stops the clock and Batts gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kazi. Batts manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kami Kazi showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kazi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
