Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Clawnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seppo Silvennoinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clawnes comes into the arena with My name is MUD blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Clawnes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seppo Silvennoinen! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clawnes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Silvennoinen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Clawnes napping and manages to drive through into side control! Silvennoinen throws a strike aimed at the side of Clawnes's head but Clawnes avoids it well. Silvennoinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Clawnes keeps working. Silvennoinen sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Clawnes is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Silvennoinen throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Clawnes works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Silvennoinen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silvennoinen is keen to just control but Clawnes is a slippery customer. Clawnes is doing well to control the position and prevent Silvennoinen from advancing to side control. Silvennoinen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clawnes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Silvennoinen scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Silvennoinen wants to pass to mount but Clawnes is defending the position. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Silvennoinen working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Clawnes controlling the position for now. Silvennoinen is keen to just control but Clawnes is a slippery customer. Silvennoinen wants to free his trapped foot but Clawnes is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Silvennoinen is looking to stall here but Clawnes recovers full guard. Silvennoinen throwing strikes from guard but Clawnes blocks nicely. Silvennoinen trying to control the position from guard on top but Clawnes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silvennoinen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Silvennoinen with a nice head shot there. Silvennoinen trying to control but Clawnes is working from the bottom. Silvennoinen forces his way into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silvennoinen trying to control from half guard but Clawnes is working away. Silvennoinen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Silvennoinen is trying to control. Clawnes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Silvennoinen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Silvennoinen is just content to waste time from the top position. Clawnes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Clawnes is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Clawnes tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Silvennoinen's elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clawnes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. No luck for Silvennoinen with that takedown attempt. Silvennoinen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Clawnes. Clawnes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No luck for Silvennoinen with that takedown attempt. It looked like Clawnes wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Silvennoinen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Clawnes quickly recovers to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Clawnes is staying active underneath Silvennoinen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Clawnes is trying to get back to full guard. Clawnes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silvennoinen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silvennoinen's back! Silvennoinen trying to control the action but Clawnes just sinks the hooks in. Clawnes is punishing Silvennoinen with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Thomas Clawnes will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Silvennoinen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clawnes as he avoids it easily. Clawnes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Clawnes wants it to stay on the feet. Silvennoinen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clawnes's waist but Clawnes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silvennoinen off to one side. Thomas Clawnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seppo Silvennoinen. Clawnes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Silvennoinen ducks right into an uppercut from Clawnes. Silvennoinen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Clawnes was covering up waiting for the punch and Silvennoinen finishes the takedown easily into guard. Silvennoinen won't allow Clawnes to sweep him here. Clawnes controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clawnes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Silvennoinen controls from within his opponent's guard. Clawnes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silvennoinen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Silvennoinen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silvennoinen trying to control the position from guard on top but Clawnes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silvennoinen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silvennoinen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Clawnes swivels and escapes. Silvennoinen shoots in looking for a takedown. Clawnes tries to sprawl out of it but Silvennoinen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clawnes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Clawnes lands a jab to the nose. Seppo Silvennoinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clawnes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Seppo Silvennoinen has been cut. Silvennoinen ducks right into an uppercut from Clawnes. Silvennoinen tries for a takedown but Clawnes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Silvennoinen shoots in and bounces Clawnes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Clawnes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silvennoinen can do to turn this around? Silvennoinen stops Clawnes from standing up. Seppo Silvennoinen has got the better of the ground game so far. Silvennoinen looking to sit in guard and control but Clawnes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Clawnes pulls Silvennoinen in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Silvennoinen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Clawnes avoids it really well and circles away. Silvennoinen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Clawnes's half guard. Clawnes manages to escape and get back to his feet! Silvennoinen dives in for a single leg takedown but Clawnes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Silvennoinen fails with the takedown and Clawnes counters with a stiff right hand. Thomas Clawnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seppo Silvennoinen. Silvennoinen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Clawnes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Thomas Clawnes is winning the standup battle so far. Clawnes cracks Silvennoinen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clawnes misses with a straight right. Silvennoinen darts in looking for a takedown but Clawnes gets double underhooks and turns Silvennoinen into the cage. And Clawnes counters with a quick kick to the body but Silvennoinen blocks it. Silvennoinen slips a jab and a cross from Clawnes.
Thomas Clawnes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Clawnes fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Silvennoinen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Silvennoinen drops his hands momentarily and Clawnes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Clawnes tries to bum rush Silvennoinen with a series of wild strikes but Silvennoinen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Clawnes throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Silvennoinen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Clawnes avoids it really well and circles away. Silvennoinen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silvennoinen shoots in for a takedown but Clawnes shows good takedown defense. Silvennoinen takes a jab right on the kisser.
A combination from Clawnes does no damage. Silvennoinen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A momentary lapse in concentration from Clawnes enables Silvennoinen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Clawnes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Clawnes kicks Silvennoinen off and gets to his feet. Clawnes cracks Silvennoinen with a good jab. Silvennoinen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Clawnes.
Clawnes walks into a straight right hand from Silvennoinen. A swing and a miss from Silvennoinen. Clawnes works over Silvennoinen's head and body with a nice combination. Silvennoinen scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Clawnes showed his dominance in that final round. Well Clawnes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Making sure that Spartan Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. Seppo Silvennoinen spoke after the fight, saying 'Shut the fuck up'.
