Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Vinetto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vinetto comes into the arena with Forgive Me Being Lost blaring out of the sound system. Smith has chosen Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

31 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincent Vinetto! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian Smith! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith moves out of range of the strikes. Smith has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Smith throws a lazy body kick letting Vinetto counter with a right hand. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Smith. Vinetto shrugs it off though. Vinetto lands a jab to Smith's midsection. Vinetto pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Vinetto swings away with a body shot that misses
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Vinetto throws a body shot but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vinetto lands a jab to the nose. Smith throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Vinetto takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vinetto throws a push kick but Smith slaps the foot to one side. Smith throws out a counter right but Vinetto avoids it with no problem. Vinetto throws a lazy uppercut
and Smith counters with a lovely straight right hand! A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target. A little feinted left hand from Vinetto on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Vinetto throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it. Smith looks like he wants to counter punch here. Vinetto throws a head kick that misses and Smith counters with a leg kick. Vinetto throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it. Smith gets off balance looking for a body kick and Vinetto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Smith walks into a left hand. Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Vinetto.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith throws a lazy body kick and Vinetto counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Vinetto lands with a good body shot. Smith smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vinetto connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Smith scores with a jab. Vinetto lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range. Smith ducks under a wild hook from Vinetto. Smith throws a leg kick that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vinetto ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Vinetto ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Smith slips under a jab from Vinetto. Vinetto wants to clinch. A little jabbing left from Smith on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Vinetto scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Vinetto is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vinetto missing with a left hand there. Smith was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Smith looks like he wants to counter punch here. Vinetto waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith. It seemed like Smith was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Vinetto scores with a nice right hand.
Vinetto misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Vinetto swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smith.
It looks like Ian Smith has been cut. Smith throws the left hand but Vinetto avoids the punch easily. Vinetto throws a quick counter head kick but Smith was just out of range. A combination from Vinetto does no damage. Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Vinetto.
Smith appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. A slapping body kick lands there for Smith. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vincent Vinetto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ian Smith's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Vinetto closes the distance looking to clinch and Smith counters with a nice low kick that buckles Vinetto's knee momentarily. Smith connects with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vinetto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Vinetto. Vincent Vinetto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vinetto tries to clinch up. Nice body punch from Smith.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vinetto blocks a low kick nicely. Smith lands a jab to Vinetto's midsection. Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A telegraphed right hand from Vinetto misses the target. Nice body kick from Smith. Smith throws the left hand but Vinetto avoids the punch easily. Vinetto blocks a low kick nicely. Smith takes a swing at Vinetto's ribcage but misses. Vinetto looks to throw a body kick and Smith counters with a low kick, right behind Vinetto 's knee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith misses with a body kick. Vinetto was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Vinetto blocks the body kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Vinetto. Smith shrugs it off though. Vinetto on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Smith walks into a left hand. Vinetto just misses with a punch to the body.
Vinetto takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vinetto walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith walks into a left hand. Smith swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Vinetto slips under a jab from Smith. Vinetto misses with a kick to the body.
Smith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Vinetto on the side of the head. Smith has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Vinetto. Vinetto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Smith counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Vinetto throws a combination that misses and Smith counters with a straight right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A swing and a miss from Smith. A swing and a miss from Smith. Vinetto misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming. Vinetto swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice body kick there by Vinetto. Vinetto scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Vinetto lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vinetto is looking to land body kicks. A countering left hand to the body from Smith misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Vinetto. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet. Vinetto has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Vinetto keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vinetto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith. A swing and a miss from Vinetto. Smith throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. That's one minute gone in the round. Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vinetto. It looked like Vinetto was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Smith. Smith misses the jab. Smith takes one to the side of the head.
Vinetto lands with a kick to the temple. Smith shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Vinetto walks into a jab. Vinetto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away. Smith thows a leg kick but Vinetto checks it and Vinetto counters with a lovely straight right hand! Vinetto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Vinetto.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith looks to throw the jab but Vinetto is out of range. Vinetto slips a jab from Smith. Vinetto throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily. Smith cracks Vinetto with an uppercut from hell and Vinetto crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Smith's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vinetto keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Smith is looking to advance position but Vinetto has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Smith is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Smith tries to lock up and control but Vinetto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Smith is in all sorts of trouble here.
Smith gets back to half guard. Vinetto tries to stand and escape but Smith is controlling the position. Vinetto decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Vinetto slips a straight right by Smith. The fighters circling - Vinetto throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Smith misses with an uppercut. Vinetto saw that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close third round but Ian Smith just about did enough to take it. The cut man is working on Ian Smith's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Vinetto throws a head kick that misses and Smith counters with a nice uppercut. Nice defenses there by Vinetto. Smith looks to score with a jab to the body but Vinetto is just out of range. Vinetto lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Smith tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Smith fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vinetto misses with a right hand enabling Smith to counter with a crisp jab. Smith delivers a nice body kick. Donk. Vinetto catches Smith right on the button with a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith misses with a lunging right hand
and Vinetto counters with a flying knee. Nice. Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Smith steps into range and cracks Vinetto with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Vinetto flops backwards and Smith dives into his guard looking to finish!
Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Vinetto is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vinetto has momentary wrist control but Smith slips an elbow through the middle. Oh Vinetto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Smith gets to his feet and stands over Vinetto, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Vinetto felt that one! Smith unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Vinetto from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ian Smith! Ian Smith is the new light heavyweight champion! An out of breath and clearly excited Ian Smith thanked King of Fists for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
