Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tommy Gavin Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tele Ranyy! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gavin Jr goes for a double leg but Ranyy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ranyy continues to drive forward. It seemed like Ranyy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Gavin Jr steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ranyy. Gavin Jr closes the distance and clinches. Gavin Jr lands a left hand.
Gavin Jr lands a body shot. Ranyy misses with a short punch on the inside. Gavin Jr lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Gavin Jr lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Ranyy lands an uppercut. Gavin Jr jumps into guard, dragging Ranyy to the mat.
Ranyy lands a couple of decent looking shots. Ranyy stops Gavin Jr from standing up. Ranyy passes easily into side control. Nice work. This has been an exciting period of action! Gavin Jr pushes Ranyy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ranyy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Ranyy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gavin Jr has escaped the position, nice work there. Gavin Jr is pushing Ranyy's head away, looking to escape. Ranyy manages to hold on to the position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ranyy working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Ranyy trying to control the action but Gavin Jr is working from the bottom. Gavin Jr has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Ranyy landing a few strikes. Ranyy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ranyy advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ranyy working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gavin Jr is squirming around, avoiding Ranyy's attempts to control the action. Ranyy throws some wild stikes that Gavin Jr manages to avoid easily.

This isn't 1993 though, so Gavin Jr shrugs it off. Ranyy is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gavin Jr can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Ranyy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ranyy lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ranyy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ranyy tries to control but Gavin Jr wriggling away. Gavin Jr wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gavin Jr holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Ranyy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Gavin Jr on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gavin Jr tries to get out of the position. Gavin Jr tries to buck Ranyy off but he can't manage it. Ranyy lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gavin Jr hang on? Ranyy trying to control but Gavin Jr is having none of it. Gavin Jr is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Ranyy trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ranyy working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Gavin Jr looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Ranyy! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Tele Ranyy! After winning the bout, Tele Ranyy thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
