Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 28 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Hunter's face as Johnson controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Johnson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hunter for as long as he can get away with.
Hunter manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson is staying active underneath Hunter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hunter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hunter's back!
Hunter is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Johnson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnson is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hunter won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Johnson off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Luke Johnson!
Luke Johnson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
