Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Krejzi Kure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gurney Halleck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kure comes to the cage accompanied by BIG SHUG - who's hard. Halleck has chosen The Clash-White Riot as his entrance music. Gurney Halleck will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Krejzi Kure! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gurney Halleck! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halleck slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Halleck looks to land a combination but Kure avoids it well. Halleck fails to land with a series of punches.
Halleck has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kure thows a left - swing and a miss! Halleck misses with a few strikes there.
Kure misses with a looping right. Halleck throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kure stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Halleck tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kure is able to avoid easily. Kure lands with a good body shot. Kure takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Kure counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Halleck throws a big shot that misses. Kure throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Halleck sees it coming and avoids it easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Halleck blocks a jab. Kure tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Halleck was well out of range. Poor timing from Kure. Halleck slips a jab from Kure. Kure shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Halleck as he jumps to the side. Kure on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Gurney Halleck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halleck is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kure seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Halleck throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Halleck jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kure lands a jab to Halleck's midsection. A left and a right from Halleck both land. Nice combination. Kure tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Halleck defends well and Kure ends up having to push Halleck into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Kure swinging wildly here.
Kure bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kure tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Kure lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Halleck avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Halleck's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Halleck is not content to let Kure control the position. Halleck is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kure scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kure wants to take a breather but Halleck is having none of it. Kure takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kure working over Halleck with some ground and pound. Halleck looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kure throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kure throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Halleck to regain full guard. Kure throws a strike but Halleck rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Halleck stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kure swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kure trying to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kure lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Halleck circles away quickly and effectively. Halleck swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kure appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Halleck lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Donk. Halleck catches Kure right on the button with a cross. Halleck keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kure shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Halleck sprawls well. Halleck wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kure gets slowly back to his feet. A jab from Halleck does it's job there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kure throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A punch combination from Kure misses. Halleck scores with a jab. Kure acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Kure misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Halleck tries to score with a low kick but Kure moves his leg out of the way. Kure changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Kure tries to close the distance and clinch but Halleck swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Halleck feints the counter takedown. Kure looks for a takedown but Halleck sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krejzi Kure. That's going to take a lot out of him. A big left from Halleck misses. Kure wants to clinch. Halleck lands a really nice looking cross but Kure seems unphased.

It looked like Kure was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Kure is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Halleck's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Halleck showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kure.
Kure takes a swing at Halleck's ribcage but misses. Kure comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Halleck scores with a nice head shot. Kure misses the shot to the body. Halleck scores with a jab to the body. Halleck is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Halleck is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kure is looking to wear down Halleck with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Halleck wants to land a leg kick but Kure is out of range. Halleck throws the left hand but Kure avoids the punch easily. Kure walks into a stiff left hand from Halleck. Halleck has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Kure's corner calls for a 1-2. Kure obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Halleck defending well as Kure loads up on a big left hand. A combination from Halleck does no damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Halleck.
Halleck is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kure. Gurney Halleck seems to be getting the better of the standup. Halleck lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Halleck has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Kure feints and as Halleck raises his hands in defense, Kure changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kure trying to control the position from guard on top but Halleck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Halleck controlling the position. Kure loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kure working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Kure throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Halleck works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kure postures up and lands a big shot to Halleck's brow.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Halleck manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Halleck is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Halleck scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Halleck will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kure not landing any meaningful shots this time. Halleck is pressing down on Kure's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. This has been an exciting period of action! Kure is looking to work some ground and pound but Halleck has wrist control. Halleck has control of Kure's left arm, preventing Kure from doing any damage. Kure stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Halleck swivels though and keeps the full guard. Krejzi Kure has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kure postures up in Halleck's guard and throws a big left but Halleck blocks it. Kure scoring with punches to the head and body. Kure working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kure missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kure wants to control from the top but Halleck keeps moving.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gurney Halleck is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kure with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Halleck to score with a decent uppercut. Halleck fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kure on the side of the head. Kure fails with the takedown. Kure shoots in looking for a takedown. Halleck tries to sprawl out of it but Kure keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Halleck manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Halleck lands with a hook. Kure tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Kure throws a shot from downtown. Halleck moves away and avoids it. A jab from Halleck finds it's way through Kure's defenses. A big right from Kure misses. Kure shoots in for a takedown but Halleck shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kure throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kure looks to score with a jab to the body but Halleck is just out of range. Halleck drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kure defends it well. Kure's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Halleck connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kure scrambles back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Halleck lands with an overhand left. Halleck throws a leg kick which misses Kure's front leg but catches the back leg as Kure tries to avoid it. Halleck throws a nice looking combination but Kure bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Halleck works Kure's body with a nice hook.
And that's the end of the fight! Gurney Halleck comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Halleck winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
