Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Jonas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tapater Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonas fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jonas.
Jonas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rua's waist but Rua gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jonas off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Jonas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Rua. No joy for Jonas on that attempt.
Jonas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rua pinned against the cage. Rua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rua instigates a clinch.
Rua has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jonas regains guard immediately.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jonas controls Rua momentarily but Rua frees himself.
Rua slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jonas is looking to regain half guard here but Rua keeps moving and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Jonas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rua tries for a kimura but Jonas is defending well.

Jonas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rua on the ground.
