Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Shankar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shankar might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Them Belly Full" by Bob Marley. Kevin Kerr acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shankar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kerr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kerr looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Shankar taking a breather here. Shankar in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Shankar working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shankar tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Kerr looks to move to half guard but instead Shankar has passed into mount! Damn! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shankar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Shankar is working for a guillotine from mount but Kerr frees his head quite easily.
Shankar lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kerr is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Shankar locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Kerr is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Andre Shankar!
