PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tung Fo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Blaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaster dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fo. That did some damage!
Fo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Blaster counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Blaster tries to buck Fo off but Fo is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Blaster is looking to reverse the position.
Blaster can't do much from the bottom here.
Fo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Blaster, who protects the arm well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Blaster sees it coming and defends easily.
Fo uses his free foot to push down on Blaster's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Blaster.
Fo prevents Blaster from getting the reversal.
Fo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Blaster has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Blaster!
Blaster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Blaster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blaster has managed to get both his arms back between Fo's legs - danger averted.

Fo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blaster defends it easily.
Blaster decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Blaster lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Fo has his takedown stuffed
and Blaster counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Blaster comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fo shoots and misses
and Blaster makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tung Fo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab lands there for Blaster.

and Blaster counters with a straight right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Blaster counters with a nice uppercut.
Blaster fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Master Blaster seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Blaster lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Blaster stalks Fo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fo's face. Fo staggers backwards, shaken.
Fo shoots in for a double leg but Blaster sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tung Fo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Blaster counters with a slapping leg kick.
Blaster throws a nice head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Blaster counters with an outside leg kick.
Blaster fakes the leg kick and cracks Fo in the body.
Blaster ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Blaster with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Blaster jabs Fo right on the nose. Fo blinks but takes it well.
Blaster lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fo dives in for a single leg takedown but Blaster sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Blaster scores with a leg kick.
Fo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Blaster fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Fo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Blaster has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Fo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Blaster dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fo gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blaster throws a big uppercut that drops Fo! More strikes from Blaster and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Fo lies dazed against the cage as Blaster celebrates with his cornermen!

Jumping up and down and very excited, Master Blaster waved his t-shirt featuring Spartan Nutrition's logo in front of the cameras.
