Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Siddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kairo Schmeldty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bryan Siddle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kairo Schmeldty! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Topper Green and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmeldty swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Siddle counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Siddle. Come on Siddle - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Siddle has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Schmeldty regains guard immediately. Siddle is looking to work some ground and pound but Schmeldty has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Siddle's corner is telling him to maintain position. Siddle looking to pass the guard. Siddle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Siddle stopping the sweep attempt from Schmeldty. Siddle looking to pass the guard. Siddle working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Siddle engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Schmeldty is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Siddle is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Schmeldty pulls his head out easily. The fighters are battling for position here. Siddle manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Siddle keeping moving, preventing Schmeldty from controlling successfully. Schmeldty would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schmeldty wants to control from the top but Siddle keeps moving. Siddle is pulling down on Schmeldty's head to control his posture. Schmeldty trying to control but Siddle is working from the bottom. Schmeldty drops back, looking for a kneebar! Siddle looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Siddle looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Siddle! Schmeldty is trying to control Siddle's posture but Siddle avoids it. Schmeldty tries to escape but Siddle is in control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Schmeldty is looking for a sweep. Siddle is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Schmeldty tries to bench press Siddle off him but Siddle keeps the position. Schmeldty is trying to escape the position but Siddle is controlling the position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Schmeldty taking a bit of punishment here - Siddle scoring with strikes. Siddle stands up. Siddle takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Schmeldty gets tackled into the cage by Siddle. Siddle maintains the clinch. The referee calls for Siddle to work.
Siddle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Siddle fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Schmeldty to the ground. Siddle is now in Schmeldty's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Siddle scoring with some ground and pound. Schmeldty tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schmeldty working a defensive guard but Siddle manages to pass into side control anyway.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryan Siddle dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Siddle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schmeldty throws a counter combo. Schmeldty ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Schmeldty lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Siddle backs up against the cage.
Schmeldty pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Siddle back to the cage. Schmeldty follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Siddle gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Siddle tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Schmeldty is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Siddle buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Siddle!! Siddle is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Schmeldty throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kairo Schmeldty!
