Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brooks Sumner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edipo Abner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brooks Sumner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edipo Abner! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sumner slips under a jab from Abner. Abner jabbing away but nothing is landing. Abner with a body punch. A glancing blow. Abner looks to throw the jab but Sumner is out of range. Abner throws a poor cross that misses
and Sumner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Edipo Abner has been cut. Sumner seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. A shot to the body from Abner misses and Sumner counters with a straight right hand. Abner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sumner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sumner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Abner was well out of range. Poor timing from Sumner. Abner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sumner. Abner uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sumner. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abner throws a combination that misses and Sumner counters by clinching up. Sumner gets through Abner's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Sumner lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Abner blocks an uppercut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Abner. A short body shot lands from Abner as the two fighters clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sumner tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Abner's elbow. Sumner digs a right hand underneath Abner's ribcage. Abner let out a lung full of air as it connected. Sumner misses with some punches.
Sumner gets control of Abner's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sumner will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Abner tries to free his leg and advance position but Sumner is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Abner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Sumner has his feet on Abner's thighs here. He's pushed Abner off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Abner screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Brooks Sumner! Our winner, Brooks Sumner, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
