Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinn Drexler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Cornell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinn Drexler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Cornell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drexler has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Cornell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Drexler lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Alex Cornell has been cut.
Cornell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cornell misses with a double jab

and Drexler counters with a takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Drexler stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Drexler closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cornell's guard.

Cornell is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Drexler presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Come on Drexler - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Drexler will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Cornell up against the cage.
Drexler gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.

Drexler manages to break the clinch.
Drexler misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cornell takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Drexler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cornell doesn't seem bothered though.
Cornell gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Drexler.
Drexler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cornell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A combination from Drexler does no damage.

Drexler shoots in and bounces Cornell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Drexler controls from within his opponent's guard.

Drexler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Drexler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drexler engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Drexler stands and throws Cornell's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Drexler stands up and beckons Cornell to his feet.
Drexler bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cornell gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Drexler's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Drexler is in close to Cornell's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Cornell being controlled here, momentarily.
Drexler has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Drexler stands up and waves to Cornell to follow him.
Drexler connects with a looping right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drexler digs a good body shot into Cornell's ribs.
Drexler lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cornell at a distance.
Cornell avoids the body shot from Drexler.

Drexler gets a takedown into half guard.
Drexler seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Drexler decides to return to a standing position.
Drexler is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Drexler works the jab nicely.
Drexler closes the distance and lands a one-two.


Cornell is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinn Drexler dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alex Cornell's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Drexler scores with a nice strike.
Cornell is still on wobbly legs! Can Drexler finish him?
Drexler throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Drexler throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jab from Drexler.
Drexler throws a right and a left that both miss.
Drexler paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Drexler circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Cornell to the canvas! Cornell doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Drexler keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quinn Drexler!
Quinn Drexler made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'F*** em' f' this man who lies before me. I Am a God in this ring! AND YOU.ARE ALL MY SUBJECTS!!!!!!'.
