Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brett Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Madrigal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boyd's entrance music is My Nigga. A fine choice. On his way into the cage it seems that Brett Boyd has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brett Boyd seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madrigal misses with a few strikes there.
Madrigal throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boyd tries to bum rush Madrigal with a series of wild strikes but Madrigal uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Boyd fails to land with a series of punches.
Madrigal wants to counter the offense by Boyd and move into the clinch position.
Boyd looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Brett Boyd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyd misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boyd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Madrigal tries to score a body lock takedown but Boyd shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Madrigal fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Boyd is trying to force a seperation but Madrigal has the dominant position.

Madrigal takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Boyd tries to clinch but Madrigal moves out of range.
The crowd cheers as Boyd lands an impressive looking overhand right. Madrigal doesn't seem phased though.
Boyd throws a big shot that misses.
Madrigal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boyd's waist but Boyd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Madrigal off to one side.
Boyd throws a big counter combination but Madrigal scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Boyd closes the distance but Madrigal moves to the side
and Madrigal counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boyd swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Madrigal goes for a double leg but Boyd avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boyd continues to drive forward.
Boyd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boyd misses with a two punch combination.
Madrigal pushes Boyd away with a front kick.
Madrigal throws a head kick that Boyd semi-blocks.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Madrigal will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Madrigal will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Boyd up against the cage.

Madrigal moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Boyd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madrigal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Madrigal lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Boyd gets tackled into the cage by Madrigal. Madrigal maintains the clinch.
Madrigal tries to pull guard but Boyd forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Madrigal breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Boyd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Madrigal counters with a nice uppercut.
