Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turner has chosen Next Episode by Dr. Dre as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Turner!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Ben Watson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner connects with a right hand. Carver shakes it off.
Turner scores with a nice strike.
Turner avoids a punch combination nicely.

Turner has managed to clinch.

Carver pulls Turner into guard.
Carver not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Carver looking for a guillotine here but Turner defends easily.
Carver definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Carver is trying to keep Turner in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner advances to half guard.
Carver wants to get back to full guard.

and Carver decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Turner's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner wants to sweep here but Carver controlling him for the moment.

Turner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carver has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Turner has managed to get both his arms back between Carver's legs - danger averted.
Turner wants to pass the guard but Carver is keeping the position.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Turner stands and throws Carver's legs to the side, diving into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turner works his foot free and advances to mount.

Carver is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Carver tries to reverse the position but Turner maintains control.

Turner seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Carver is holding on tight.
Turner is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Carver is in real trouble.
Carver can't escape the position.

Turner has good solid back control here.

Turner is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Carver defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Turner's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Carver breaks Turner's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Carver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Turner is controlling Carver's posture.
Carver is working Turner over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Carver content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Turner has locked up a guillotine! Turner's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Carver is holding on here and Turner must be using up a lot of energy. Carver has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Turner gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

During a confident post fight interview, Josh Turner thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
