Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Huffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler Jensen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thurman Huffman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Jensen!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jensen tries to bum rush Huffman with a series of wild strikes but Huffman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jensen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Huffman counters with a three punch combo that has Jensen backing up. Jensen nods at Huffman to acknowledge the strikes.

Jensen gets tackled into the cage by Huffman. Huffman maintains the clinch.
Huffman really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Jensen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Huffman wants to break free but Jensen has control.
Jensen goes for a takedown attempt but Huffman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Thurman Huffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Jensen.
Jensen tries to clinch

and Huffman counters with a takedown into side control.

Jensen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Huffman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jensen holding on.
Jensen pushes Huffman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Huffman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huffman cracks Jensen with a big right hand but Jensen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jensen regains half guard, as Huffman was trying to land strikes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jensen wants to get back to full guard.
Huffman controlling the action here.
Huffman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jensen keeps working.
Huffman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jensen's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Huffman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jensen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jensen looks like he's trying to stand up.
Huffman is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Jensen is positioning himself well to prevent Huffman advancing to mount.
Huffman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Huffman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jensen's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jensen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Huffman sprawls well. Huffman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jensen gets slowly back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Huffman breaks from the clinch.

Jensen gets a double leg takedown into Huffman's guard.
Jensen postures up in Huffman's guard and throws a big left but Huffman blocks it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jensen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Huffman's guard.
Jensen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Huffman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thurman Huffman dominated that round.
That's time! Huffman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jensen shoots in and drives through. Huffman sprawls well.
A nice inside leg kick there by Huffman. That's going to slow Jensen down.

Huffman rushes Jensen and presses him up against the cage.
Huffman tries to break the clinch but Jensen is controlling the position.
Huffman tries to break free but Jensen pushes him back against the cage.
Jensen lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Thurman Huffman has been cut.
Jensen tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jensen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Huffman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Huffman pulls guard.
Jensen wants to control from the top but Huffman keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jensen passes Huffman's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Huffman is controlling Jensen's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Huffman pushes Jensen off looking to stand but Jensen dives back in and keeps control.
Jensen is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Huffman pushes Jensen off looking to stand but Jensen dives back in and keeps control.
Jensen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Huffman keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jensen fails to land the takedown.
Huffman goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jensen shoots in looking for a takedown but Huffman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jensen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Huffman attempts a counter takedown but Jensen avoids it well and moves away.
Jensen is breathing heavily.
Jensen fails with a takedown attempt.
Huffman is looking to counter punch.
Jensen throws a half hearted mid kick.
Jensen slips a jab and a cross from Huffman.
A little jabbing left from Jensen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Huffman throws a right and a left that both miss.

Huffman closes the distance and clinches.
Huffman has Jensen pressed against the cage, preventing Jensen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Jensen jumps into guard, dragging Huffman to the mat.
Huffman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Huffman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Huffman engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Huffman throws an elbow that misses. Jensen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Huffman's guard. Nice move by Jensen!

Huffman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jensen can do to turn this around?

Jensen trying to control the position from guard on top but Huffman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Huffman has Jensen pulled in close to control his posture.
Huffman is trying to keep Jensen in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jensen stands and steps away. Huffman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Huffman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A nice combination there by Huffman.
Jensen fails to land the takedown.
Thurman Huffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Jensen.

Jensen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jensen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Huffman.
Huffman wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Huffman is working for takedown but Jensen is calmly controlling the position for now.

Huffman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jensen shoots in and drives through. Huffman sprawls well.
Huffman throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Sloppy strikes from Huffman. Those never looked like landing.
Jensen steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Huffman.
Nice takedown defense from Huffman. No joy for Jensen on that attempt.
Jensen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Huffman has managed to clinch.
Huffman is trying to push Jensen away but Jensen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Huffman has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Huffman has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jensen uses from the top position.

Huffman thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Jensen stands and throws Huffman's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jensen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Huffman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jensen but great work by Huffman.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Huffman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jensen some visible discomfort.

Huffman grinds an elbow into Jensen's temple.
Jensen wants to get back to his feet.
Huffman landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Huffman lands a few punches from side control.

Huffman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Jensen takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Huffman wants to control but Jensen is keeping him busy.

Jensen is looking to get back to his feet here but Huffman is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jensen's back.
Huffman throwing damaging strikes from the back! Jensen could be in trouble here!
Jensen is taking damage to the body and head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huffman is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jensen is trying to remain composed but Huffman is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Thurman Huffman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Huffman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
