Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benni Caine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashley Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Caine.
Vargas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Caine looks to score with a jab to the body but Vargas is just out of range.
Vargas shoots in looking for a takedown but Caine manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vargas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Vargas slips a jab from Caine.
Caine just misses with a punch to the body.
Vargas shoots in but Caine avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Caine throws a hook to the side of Vargas's head but Vargas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Vargas pushes Caine up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caine has a couple of punches blocked by Vargas.
Vargas is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Caine pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Benni Caine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashley Vargas.
Caine struggles to land a body shot inside as Vargas controls his hands.

Vargas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Caine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vargas.

Vargas shoots in for a takedown but Caine shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Caine keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Caine half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Vargas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Caine swivels and escapes.
Caine attempts a counter takedown but Vargas avoids it well and moves away.
Caine misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vargas.
Caine throws a lazy right hand but Vargas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Caine throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vargas sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Vargas shoots in and gets a takedown into Caine's guard.

Caine has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Vargas is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Caine is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Vargas's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

A head punch on the inside from Caine fails to land.
Caine has a couple of punches blocked by Vargas.
Caine misses with a punch on the inside.
Caine tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Vargas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Caine stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Caine wants it to stay on the feet.

Vargas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caine is controlling Vargas's trapped leg to prevent Vargas from advancing to side control.

Vargas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Caine sees it coming and defends easily.
Vargas looks winded!
Caine keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Vargas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Caine is pressing down on Vargas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Caine is looking to cinch up a triangle. Vargas throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Caine's body to avoid the submission. Caine has instead reached around Vargas's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Caine arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
