Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aloysius Martin Thesz and Jarkko Kilpi. Kilpi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Solid Base - I Like It kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 5 losses; Aloysius Martin Thesz! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Jarkko Kilpi! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Thesz rushes Kilpi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Thesz tries for a takedown but Kilpi manages to get underhooks.
Kilpi is pressed up against the cage. Thesz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kilpi down to the mat. Kilpi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Thesz has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Thesz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Thesz (2) vs (0) Kilpi Thesz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Kilpi is not content to let Thesz control the position. Kilpi is looking to improve his position.
Kilpi gets full guard. Thesz wants to control from the top but Kilpi keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thesz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Thesz stopping the sweep attempt from Kilpi.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kilpi has his hands on Thesz's head, controlling the position. Kilpi looking to control.
Thesz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kilpi is keeping the position for now. Kilpi throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thesz postures up.
Kilpi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thesz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thesz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kilpi controlling Thesz's posture.

Thesz is working to tighten his grip on Kilpi's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kilpi has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Thesz is really squeezing tight and eventually Kilpi passes out! Thesz breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
