Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Vihaan Lal and Rafael Carvalho. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Lal closes the distance and clinches. Lal gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carvalho.
Carvalho gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Lal (0) vs (2) Carvalho Carvalho trying to control the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carvalho is working away from the top position though. Carvalho wants to work for an arm triangle but Lal is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carvalho trying to control the pace. Carvalho is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lal slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Lal looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Carvalho has picked Lal up and slammed him! Lal can't keep hold of the triangle and Carvalho manages to pass to side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Lal (0) vs (5) Carvalho Carvalho tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carvalho has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lal seems a little lost for a moment, as Carvalho dominates the positioning. Carvalho has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lal! Score +2 for reaching mount: Lal (0) vs (7) Carvalho Carvalho looking to control and managing it successfully. Let's hope that Carvalho has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Lal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carvalho swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rafael Carvalho! |
