Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aran Schmeck and Rickson Dredd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 8 losses; Aran Schmeck! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 3 losses; Rickson Dredd! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Schmeck shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Dredd feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Schmeck (0) vs (2) Dredd Dredd drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Schmeck dives on top into guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Schmeck (2) vs (2) Dredd We've been hearing good reports from Schmeck's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Schmeck tries to free his leg and advance position but Dredd is retaining full guard. Schmeck controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Dredd looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dredd keeping moving, preventing Schmeck from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dredd is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Schmeck defends well. Schmeck looking to pass the guard.

Dredd advances position into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Schmeck (2) vs (7) Dredd A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Dredd is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Schmeck has escaped the position, nice work there. Schmeck is looking to regain half guard here but Dredd keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dredd working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Dredd is looking to take a break and control but Schmeck is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dredd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dredd is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schmeck knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dredd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Schmeck, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schmeck is looking for a sweep. Dredd swings around for an armbar but Schmeck sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dredd's guard. Dredd being controlled here, momentarily. Schmeck wants to control from the top but Dredd keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dredd is looking for a triangle but Schmeck pushes his legs off easily.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schmeck can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Schmeck looking to pass the guard. Schmeck trying to control the position from guard on top but Dredd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schmeck avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Schmeck thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dredd looking for a triangle here. Schmeck is fighting it but it looks tight! Dredd pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Schmeck is tapping out - this one is all over!
