Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jay Gatsby and Greco Roman. Jay Gatsby is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Jay Gatsby! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 7 losses; Greco Roman! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Roman gets tackled into the cage by Gatsby. Gatsby maintains the clinch. Roman stops a takedown attempt from Gatsby.
Gatsby is trying to trip Roman. He has hold of a leg but Roman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gatsby persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Gatsby (7) vs (9) Roman Roman is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Gatsby knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Gatsby for a finish. Roman working for a choke but Gatsby reverses nicely into Roman 's guard. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gatsby is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points, we go to a tie breaker and Roman gets a bonus point for attempting more subs. Roman wins on points by 10 to 9. In his post fight interview, Greco Roman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. Jay Gatsby was interviewed post fight and said 'Damn, I had him. I don't think I'd have lost if... In fact, I'm sure I won this fight, hope you give me a rematch, old sport. Can't repeat the past? Why, of course you can... of course you can. '. |
