Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Evgeniy Malkin and Bjj Spar. Malkin comes to the cage accompanied by The Heavy - How You Like Me Now?. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Evgeniy Malkin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Bjj Spar! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Malkin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Malkin gets a clinch. Spar is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Malkin to keep the fight standing. Spar successfully pulls guard.

Spar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Malkin haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Spar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Malkin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Spar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Malkin defends well. Spar looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Malkin passes into side control.

Spar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Malkin is taking a breather. Spar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Malkin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Malkin has the hooks in. Spar is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Spar keeps trying to improve his position.

Spar trying to control the position from guard on top but Malkin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spar pushes down on Malkin's leg and manages to get into half guard. Spar wants to take a breather but Malkin is having none of it. Spar wants to pass to mount but Malkin is defending the position. Malkin controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Spar is pressing down on Malkin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Malkin is holding on for now. Malkin is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Spar has latched onto it... Big trouble! Spar pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Malkin is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Spar!
