Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Koski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
41 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bartek Pietrzak! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koski shoots in for a takedown but Pietrzak shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pietrzak tries a head kick but it misses.
Koski is looking to chop away at Pietrzak's legs. Pietrzak throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Pietrzak looks to throw the jab but Koski is out of range. Pietrzak misses with a looping left. Bartek Pietrzak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koski moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Koski looks to land a right hand but Pietrzak moved out of range. Koski misses with an attempted mid kick.
Pietrzak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pietrzak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koski's waist but Koski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pietrzak off to one side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pietrzak.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pietrzak or perhaps it was just good defense by Koski, which made it look bad. A slapping leg kick lands for Koski.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koski misses with an uppercut. Pietrzak saw that one coming. Pietrzak scores with a hook to the body. Koski takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Koski with a nice cross. Koski moves out of range of the strikes. Pietrzak just misses with a punch to the body.
A jab from Koski misses. A swing and a miss from Koski. Pietrzak throws a body shot but no joy. Koski ducks under a wild hook from Pietrzak. Koski wants to slow Pietrzak down by chopping away at his legs. Pietrzak keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Koski. A jab lands there for Pietrzak. A big right from Pietrzak misses. Koski throws a quick counter kick to the body but Pietrzak avoids it. Koski lands a really nice looking cross but Pietrzak seems unphased.

letting Pietrzak counter with a right hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pietrzak misses with an uppercut. Koski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Pietrzak turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Koski misses with a jab, cross combination.

Nice cross by Pietrzak. Koski throws a lazy head kick and Pietrzak counters with a stiff right hand. Koski looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Pietrzak misses with a lunging right hand
and Koski counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Koski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Pietrzak is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pietrzak keeping full guard, as Koski tries to pass. Koski won't allow Pietrzak to sweep him here. Koski wants to control from the top but Pietrzak keeps moving. Pietrzak pulls Koski in close to his closed guard and prevents Koski from doing any damage or advancing position. Pietrzak looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Pietrzak avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Koski trying to control but Pietrzak is working from the bottom. Koski wants to pass the guard but Pietrzak is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pietrzak controlling Koski's posture. Koski won't allow Pietrzak to sweep him here. Koski is fighting to break Pietrzak's control of his arms but Pietrzak is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Pietrzak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pietrzak connects with a jab. Pietrzak throws a half hearted mid kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Juan Koski will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Koski misses the shot to the body. Pietrzak throws an off balance right hand
and Koski counters with a straight right hand. Bartek Pietrzak seems to be getting the better of the standup. Pietrzak misses with a few strikes there.
Pietrzak tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Koski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Koski wants it to stay on the feet. Pietrzak thuds a left hand into Koski's body. Pietrzak looks to land a right hand but Koski moved out of range. Pietrzak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Koski circles away quickly and effectively. Koski moves out of range of the leg kick from Pietrzak. Koski avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koski misses with an uppercut. Pietrzak saw that one coming. The crowd cheers as Koski lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pietrzak doesn't seem phased though. A telegraphed right hand from Pietrzak misses the target. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Koski!

Pietrzak looks to land a left hand but Koski moved out of range nicely. Pietrzak will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Koski blocks a head kick by Pietrzak.
Koski changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Pietrzak fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Koski moves out of range of the body kick from Pietrzak.
Koski finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Pietrzak fails to land with a series of punches.
Koski connects with a jab. Koski lands a head kick. Pietrzak smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Nice takedown defense from Koski. No joy for Pietrzak on that attempt. Juan Koski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bartek Pietrzak. Koski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pietrzak. Pietrzak misses with a low kick.
Pietrzak lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Koski backs up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Koski cracks Pietrzak with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Koski connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Pietrzak throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Koski scores with the left hand. Pietrzak knows he should have avoided that one. Koski avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pietrzak swings for the body but Koski moves out of range.

Koski throws a hook to the side of Pietrzak's head but Pietrzak sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Koski plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Pietrzak scores with a nice body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Koski gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pietrzak. Pietrzak works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Koski lands a nice looking body shot.
Pietrzak moves away from the strike by Koski. Koski scores with the left hand. Pietrzak knows he should have avoided that one. Good exchange - Koski coming out on top. A nice leg kick lands there from Pietrzak. Koski cracks Pietrzak with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Nice takedown defense from Koski. No joy for Pietrzak on that attempt. Koski throwing a counter right hand but Pietrzak manages to avoid it. Pietrzak feints and as Koski raises his hands in defense, Pietrzak changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koski is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Koski forces his way into half guard. Koski is thwarting Pietrzak's attempts to control the position. Pietrzak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pietrzak is looking to escape. Koski sitting and controlling from the half guard. Koski trying to mount his opponent but Pietrzak defends it. Koski wants to work for an arm triangle but Pietrzak is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Koski dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Koski gets off balance looking for a body kick and Pietrzak counters with a straight right hand. Koski lands an overhand right. That kick from Pietrzak tenderised Koski's leg. Koski is trying to keep his angry face on. Koski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pietrzak.
Jab from Pietrzak. Koski looks for the body kick but Pietrzak saw that one coming. Pietrzak throws a body punch but Koski moves out of range. Koski with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pietrzak to score with a decent uppercut. Pietrzak stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Koski. Pietrzak throws out a leg kick but Koski moves out of range and Pietrzak only half commits. Koski looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koski tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pietrzak defends well and Koski ends up having to push Pietrzak into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Pietrzak slips a jab from Koski. Koski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pietrzak lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koski lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Pietrzak gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Pietrzak pulls Koski in close to his closed guard and prevents Koski from doing any damage or advancing position. Koski with a flurry of punches that miss. Pietrzak keeping moving, preventing Koski from controlling successfully. Juan Koski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pietrzak holds on and takes a little breather. Koski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Pietrzak working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Koski. Bartek Pietrzak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koski won't allow Pietrzak to get back to his feet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Pietrzak has Koski pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Pietrzak connects with an inside leg kick. Pietrzak digs a good body shot into Koski's ribs. Koski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A left lands for Pietrzak. Pietrzak fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Koski misses with a left hand and Pietrzak decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Koski's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Pietrzak trying to control the position from guard on top but Koski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Koski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pietrzak trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Koski manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Pietrzak lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Koski controls Pietrzak momentarily but Pietrzak frees himself. Koski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Pietrzak cracks Koski with a solid left hand. Pietrzak wants to pass the guard but Koski is keeping the position. Koski keeping moving, preventing Pietrzak from controlling successfully. Koski controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pietrzak landing with the ground and pound. Pietrzak trying to control the position from guard on top but Koski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Koski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pietrzak manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Bartek Pietrzak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Koski has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
