Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ludwig Manres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xantos Aremis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manres's entrance music is Aqualung - Jethro Tull. A fine choice. Aremis has chosen Infected Mushroom - Merlin as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
35 - 41 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ludwig Manres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
28 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xantos Aremis!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manres shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Aremis as he avoids it easily.
Aremis scores with a jab to the jaw.
Aremis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Manres feinted with a counter takedown.
Aremis lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Aremis lunges at Manres with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Manres's hand.
Manres takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Manres blocks a head kick by Aremis.
Aremis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Aremis misses with a low kick as Manres jumps back.
Aremis throws a lazy right hand but Manres sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Aremis throws a poor cross that misses
and Aremis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Aremis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manres's waist but Manres gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aremis off to one side.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Aremis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Manres.
Aremis walks into a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Aremis tries to clinch up but Manres circles away and keeps his distance.
Manres tries to counter with a takedown but Aremis is quick to defend against it.
Aremis is looking to land body kicks.
Aremis's coach down at Bruize Brothaz was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Aremis's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Aremis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Manres was well out of range. Poor timing from Aremis.
Aremis connects with the punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Manres looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Manres gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Aremis.
A cross from Aremis lands.
Aremis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Manres avoids the body shot from Aremis.
Aremis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Manres.
A looping hook to the body misses from Aremis. Manres does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Aremis. No joy for Manres on that attempt.
Xantos Aremis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aremis has Manres up against the cage in a clinch.
Manres tries to pull guard but Aremis holds him up against the cage and eventually Manres drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ludwig Manres. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Manres fails to pull guard.
Manres tries to break free but Aremis pushes him back against the cage.
Manres is struggling to control the position.
Manres tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aremis smiles and moves away.
Aremis has closed the distance and engaged Manres in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aremis throws a punch but it's blocked by Manres.
Manres avoids the elbow strike from Aremis, against the cage.
Manres landing knees to the body.
Aremis manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Manres shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Aremis rushes Manres with punches - Manres moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Manres goes down! Aremis follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xantos Aremis!
