Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ilya Mstislav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lao Shin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Volkov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Россия. Shin has chosen Shaolin Chamber of Death as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shin thumps Volkov with a low kick.
Ilya Mstislav Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Volkov.
Volkov throws a body kick that misses.
Volkov lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Shin takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Volkov throws a body punch but Shin moves out of range.
A big right from Volkov misses.
Shin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Volkov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Shin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Shin lands with a nice body punch.
Volkov rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Shin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shin scores with a jab. Volkov acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Volkov has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gym Amsterdam in the buildup to the fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Volkov misses the shot to the body.
Volkov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shin.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A jab from Shin misses.
Volkov lands with a good body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Volkov misses the target.
Shin lands a head kick. Volkov smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Volkov bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shin's head backwards.
Volkov clobbers Shin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Shin lands a big head kick that sends Volkov tumbling to the mat! Shin takes a step backwards and waves Volkov back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Volkov is rocked!

It looks like Ilya Mstislav Volkov has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Volkov thows a leg kick but Shin checks it
and Shin counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lao Shin!
Lao Shin is the new welterweight champion!
Our winner, Lao Shin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
