PBP Commentary

Muscat comes to the cage accompanied by ultimate fighter song. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Muscat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leon Walls!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muscat shoots in but Walls avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Walls gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Walls pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Muscat trying to control but Walls is working from the bottom.
Muscat looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Muscat wants to stand but Walls is controlling his posture from full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Muscat stops Walls from standing up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walls throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Walls wants to sweep here but Muscat controlling him for the moment.

Walls looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Muscat is looking to work some ground and pound but Walls has wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Muscat fails with the takedown.
Walls throws a right and a left that both miss.
Muscat keeps the fight on the outside.
Muscat tries to clinch

and Walls counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Walls.

Muscat pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Muscat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Walls counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trent Muscat. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Walls fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Walls changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Muscat fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Muscat shoots and misses

and Walls counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Muscat is trying to break the clinch but Walls has him pressed against the cage.
Muscat blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Muscat fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Walls is struggling to control the position.
Walls tries for a takedown but Muscat manages to get underhooks.

Walls has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Muscat regains guard immediately.
Walls looks gassed!
Walls is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Walls gets to his feet - Muscat follows without any prompting.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walls shoots for a takedown but Muscat saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Walls closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Muscat gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Walls.

Muscat ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Muscat no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Walls won't allow Muscat to get back to his feet.
Muscat is trying to keep Walls in close.

Walls is posturing up here but Muscat has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Walls tries to roll out but it's too tight and Walls has to tap! Slick submission there by Muscat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Trent Muscat!
