Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wayne on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Wayne throws a right hand that Bearden ducks under and follows up with a left that Bearden also avoids with ease.

Bearden scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Bearden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wayne keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wayne is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bearden is controlling him well.

Bearden wants to control for a moment but Wayne uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bearden shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wayne's guard.

Bearden is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Bearden is looking to advance position but Wayne has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bearden shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wayne pinned against the cage. Wayne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Wayne counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
James Wayne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Bearden.

Wayne tries to clinch there but Bearden circles away.

Bearden shoots in and bounces Wayne off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bearden escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wayne gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Rex Bearden will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Wayne's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Bearden seems to be looking for submissions.
Bearden misses with a head shot. Wayne uses the momentum to regain guard.
Bearden takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wayne is looking to stand up but Bearden isn't so interested in that idea.

Beardenis looking to pass into half guard but Wayne pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Wayne is in guard.
Bearden is trying to keep Wayne in close.
Wayne is looking to stand up but Bearden won't let him.

Wayne postures up.

Bearden had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Wayne is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bearden Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Wayne's back instead.
Bearden lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Wayne is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

I would not like to be Wayne right now.
Wayne prevents Bearden from getting a body triangle.
Bearden has Wayne flattened out and is raining down punches.
Wayne is trying to get back to his feet but Bearden has full control of the position and if anything, Wayne has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Bearden has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Wayne! Can he survive? No! He's out! Bearden gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
