Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arjan Bhullar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Riner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bhullar's entrance music is Lords of the Underground - Chief Rocka. A fine choice. Arjan Bhullar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arjan Bhullar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Teddy Riner!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bhullar looks to score with a jab to the body but Riner is just out of range.
And Riner tries to counter it with a takedown but Bhullar pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Riner steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bhullar.
Riner changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bhullar swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Riner drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bhullar defends it well.
Bhullar misses with a looping left.
And Riner tries to counter it with a takedown but Bhullar pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Riner avoids the body shot from Bhullar.

Riner gets the takedown into side control.

Riner tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Riner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bhullar, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Riner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Riner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bhullar is looking to reverse the position.
Bhullar is not content to let Riner control the position.

Riner swings around for an armbar but Bhullar sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Riner's guard.
Bhullar working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.


It looks like Teddy Riner has been cut.
Riner wants to get back to his feet but Bhullar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bhullar cracks Riner with a solid left hand.
Riner wants to stand up but Bhullar is controlling him.
Bhullar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Riner on the ground.
Riner keeping full guard, as Bhullar tries to pass.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Riner pushes Bhullar off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Bhullar missing with a left hand there. Riner was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Riner is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Bhullar lands with a cross.


The cut above Teddy Riner's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Bhullar misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Riner counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bhullar pulls Riner in to control the position.
Riner with a nice head shot there.
Bhullar looking for a sweep. Not yet Bhullar, not yet.
Riner wants to control from the top but Bhullar keeps moving.
Riner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bhullar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bhullar has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Bhullar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Riner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bhullar is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bhullar has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bhullar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bhullar stops Riner from standing up.
Bhullar works over Riner with some ground and pound from guard.
Bhullar is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Bhullar cracks Riner with a solid left hand.


Teddy Riner's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Teddy Riner's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Arjan Bhullar!
Arjan Bhullar decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
