Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quintin Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Giorgi Kharadze!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Damien Edna and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kharadze looking to score a takedown here. Jacobs is defending well but Kharadze drives through and ends up in Jacobs's guard.
Kharadze landing some decent shots from guard.
Kharadze's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Jacobs pulls Kharadze in close to prevent any damage.
Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kharadze is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like Kharadze might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kharadze's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jacobs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kharadze controls the pace.
Jacobs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jacobs is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jacobs has his hands on Kharadze's head, controlling the position.
Jacobs is trying to keep Kharadze in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kharadze accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kharadze working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jacobs's head.
Kharadze is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jacobs looking for a sweep. Not yet Jacobs, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kharadze gets to his feet - Jacobs follows without any prompting.
Kharadze shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jacobs is trying to defend but Kharadze finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Jacobs scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kharadze manages to mount him!
Kharadze lands a couple of good shots and Jacobs has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Kharadze is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Jacobs. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Jacobs is rocked!
Kharadze working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Jacobs is doing well to defend. Kharadze seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Jacobs is forced to tap and this one is over!
