Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Could you be loved - Bob marley. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddy Bennett! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bennett shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bennett misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Bennett connects with a solid leg kick. Bennett gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Bennett lands a nice knee to the body. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Jones gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bennett.
Bennett lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bennett in particular looking to stall. Bennett is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennett trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom. Bennett looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Bennett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bennett is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Bennett is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bennett postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jones to stand up. Bennett shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Bennett with a nice head shot there. Bennett stays in close to Jones's body and controls the position. Jones keeping full guard, as Bennett tries to pass. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bennett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bennett wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Bennett postures up.
Bennett trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Bennett showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bennett trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Despite being in the dominant position, Freddy Bennett just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Bennett tries to escape but Jones is in control. Bennett is looking for a sweep. Jones cracks Bennett with a big elbow. Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bennett is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Bennett dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Bennett looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well. Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bennett has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Bennett breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bennett lands a jab to Jones's midsection. Bennett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones shoots in and drives through. Bennett sprawls well. Bennett throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennett fails with a takedown attempt. Jimmy Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Bennett. Jones shoots in and bounces Bennett off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jones stays in close to Bennett's body and controls the position. Bennett looking for a sweep. Not yet Bennett, not yet. Bennett pulls Jones in to control the position. Bennett working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Bennett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bennett is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea. Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bennett is proving hard to escape from.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bennett counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones! Bennett moves to the back position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones breaks Bennett's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bennett swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bennett utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jones preventing the sweep. Jones wants to control from the top but Bennett keeps moving. Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bennett will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bennett stuffs the takedown. Bennett shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bennett's waist but Bennett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side. Bennett moves out of range of the body kick. Bennett closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Bennett pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Bennett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Bennett wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bennett pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.
Jones with the ground and pound but Bennett uses the opportunity to regain guard. Jones wanted to stand there but Bennett had control of the position. Jones trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Bennett pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage. Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennett looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bennett tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Bennett is looking to clinch. Bennett shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Bennett's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jimmy Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A right-left combo lands from Jones. Bennett throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. Bennett shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jones blocks a head kick by Bennett.
Jones with a poor takedown and Bennett decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Bennett wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Bennett throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bennett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones controls Bennett momentarily but Bennett frees himself. Bennett decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get! Bennett is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennett misses with a body kick. Jones avoids the head kick by Bennett.
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bennett tries to clinch but Jones moves away and Jones counters with a straight right hand. Bennett gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bennett is lucky that one didn't land flush. Jimmy Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Bennett. Jones scores with a takedown into Bennett's guard. Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bennett has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Jones trying to control but Bennett is working from the bottom. Bennett has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position. Freddy Bennett has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to control from the top but Bennett keeps moving. Jones postures up.
Jimmy Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bennett lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones! Freddy Bennett is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Freddy Bennett. Well Bennett has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
