PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hoppus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lu Ming (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoppus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Not Now. Lu Ming has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mark Hoppus's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lu Ming!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ming pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoppus lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ming's sensitive parts.

Ming clinches with his opponent.
Hoppus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hoppus tries to pull guard but Ming won't allow it.
Ming wants to break free but Hoppus has control.
Hoppus on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ming is working for takedown but Hoppus is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hoppus tries for a takedown but Ming manages to get underhooks.

Ming pulls guard effortlessly.
Hoppus trying to control the position from guard on top but Ming is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hoppus is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoppus closes the distance and clinches up with Ming, looking for a takedown. Hoppus pushes Ming against the cage but Ming circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ming shoots for a takedown but Hoppus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ming looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ming can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hoppus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ming is looking to reverse the position.

Hoppus is looking to take a break and control but Ming is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hoppus has Ming pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ming manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ming throws a knee to the head but misses.
Hoppus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ming walks away with a smile on his face. Hoppus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mark Hoppus showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hoppus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
