Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gak Rhettie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dun Kirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhettie looks to clinch
and Kirk counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Kirk slips a nice elbow through Rhettie's hands, connecting with Rhettie's forehead.
Kirk winds up and cracks Rhettie with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Kirk throws a strike but Rhettie avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Kirk content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Kirk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rhettie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kirk connects with a nice short shot to Rhettie's temple.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kirk is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rhettie!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kirk breaks from Rhettie's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Rhettie is breathing heavily.
Kirk softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Rhettie is out cold! Kirk jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dun Kirk!
