Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Azevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnny Mickey Sarady! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Azevedo fails to land the takedown. Sarady tries to counter with a clinch but Azevedo shakes him off and moves away. Sarady feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Azevedo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sarady doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sarady manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sarady is fighting to break Azevedo's control of his arms but Azevedo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sarady controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Azevedo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Azevedo being controlled here, momentarily. Azevedo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Azevedo looking to control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Sarady shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Azevedo's guard. Azevedo is pulling down on Sarady's head to control his posture. Sarady looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sarady preventing the sweep. Azevedo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Azevedo wants to sweep here but Sarady controlling him for the moment. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Sarady controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sarady dives in and scores a takedown into Azevedo's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sarady won't allow Azevedo to sweep him here. Azevedo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sarady passes into half guard. Azevedo is looking for a sweep. Sarady is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Azevedo moves into full guard.
Azevedo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sarady tries to free his leg and advance position but Azevedo is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sarady is still trying to improve position. Azevedo looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Azevedo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sarady to score an easy takedown into full guard. Sarady slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Johnny Mickey Sarady has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azevedo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sarady is one step ahead there. Azevedo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sarady defends well. Sarady controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Azevedo keeping full guard, as Sarady tries to pass. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Azevedo looking to control.

Azevedo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sarady quickly recovers to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Mickey Sarady showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Azevedo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Azevedo sitting and controlling from the half guard. Azevedo is pressing down on Sarady's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sarady is holding on for now. Azevedo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sarady defends it well. Sarady is trying to maintain the position but Azevedo is very close to passing his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azevedo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Azevedo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sarady can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Azevedo wants to control the pace but Sarady is squirming around nicely. Sarady defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Azevedo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sarady sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Azevedo is working for a submission of some sort.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Azevedo is looking to stall here but Sarady recovers full guard. Johnny Mickey Sarady is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Johnny Mickey Sarady. Well Sarady has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
