Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carroll Kemp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Deano Ripper!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripper doesn't manage to clinch there - Kemp circles away.

Ripper lands a big right hand that sends Kemp crashing to the mat! Ripper stays standing though and waves Kemp back to his feet!


It looks like Carroll Kemp has been cut.

Kemp shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ripper is trying to defend but Kemp finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ripper wants to stand back up but Kemp manages to pass into side control.
Kemp really is a fat lump.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kemp throws an elbow but Ripper slips to the side and avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
An elbow from Kemp crashes against the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kemp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ripper is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kemp is controlling him well.

Kemp works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Ripper wants to get back to his feet.
Kemp takes a little break here. Ripper wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kemp has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ripper is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kemp yanks on the arm and Ripper is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kemp.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Carroll Kemp!
