Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Skeng Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anders Funk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Skeng Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anders Funk!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Man darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Funk holds on and takes a little breather.
Man working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Man has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Man is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Funk has managed to free his arm - good work.
Man has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Man not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Man looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Funk wants to improve his position but Man is controlling well.

Man looking for a submission but Funk manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Man postures up in Funk's guard and throws a big left but Funk blocks it.

Man is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Man accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Man drops back looking for a leg! Funk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Funk manages to kick Man off! Man jumps back into Funk's guard.

That's time! Man's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Funk scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Funk throws out a leg kick but Man moves out of range and Funk only half commits.

Funk bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Man's head backwards.

Funk fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Man has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Man tries to clinch up but Funk circles away and keeps his distance.

Funk keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Funk lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Man will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Funk dips to his left and cracks Man with an uppercut!
Man throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Funk's waist but Funk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Man off to one side.
Funk is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Man with a body shot.
Funk misses with a hook. Man ducked under it nicely.

Man uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Funk.
Man shoots in looking for a takedown. Funk tries to sprawl out of it but Man keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Funk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Anders Funk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Man has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
